I had considered the idea of having the crossmember powder coated to protect it against future corrosion, but on consulting the wisdom of the MGOC members forum the general concensus seems to be that the finish becomes quite brittle in time. I was recommended to try using POR15 rust prevention paint, available only from Frost I believe, which is what I did. Here I've painted the main crossmember, wishbones, spring pans and also took the opportunity to paint the gearbox crossmember.
