Back when I had started the second phase of my project I had taken the questionable step of buying another GT off eBay with the intention of driving it whilst the other one was still in pieces, and also to use for reference when putting it back together. The previous owner of this car had lovingly restored the engine to a very high standard, but the bodywork turned out to be in a very poor state. The starter motor also gave out on the journey back from the vendor's house and I finished the trip on the back of an AA flatbed. I decided against trying to run it as a second car, but the engine was too good to waste so once my engine bay was restored I embarked on a bit of transplant surgery.
