Back on the road (for a time)

At this point the car was taken for its first MOT in 3 years and, after a few minor teething problems were resolved, happily passed. I enjoyed a couple of years of (almost) trouble-free motoring until the pretty much neglected engine eventually started to complain and it became difficult to ignore its huge oil consumption any longer. Radical engine surgery was required but I lacked the time or money to do anything about it, unfortunately the car then ended up back in hibernation for another couple of years.
